Cool video
Thank You Viking.
Very cool Darrell. Glad you are getting it figured out. So far is it what you expected it to be?
Great content Darrell. Agree with you 100 💯 ..
Glad you enjoyed it
I agree Darrell. Getting outside, away from the computer and TV and just taking a walk is GOOD for the SOUL and MIND. Sitting in a house all day or office is no good. Why my canoe trips, hikes and even shovelling and plowing snow are relaxing. But Maple Syrup season is a true proof of what work and time can do. Take care brother.
Thank You Fred, I'm glad I found your channel nothing but the Truth. Thanks for the support.
Cool video...
Thank You.
This hobby helped me with this
Agree!!!!!!!
Some videos should never been made, here is an example of just that.
Excellent Darrell. Nice contact.
Your SWR was maxed, hit the tuner… maybe it will help it out.
No good. He still copy k4yem....kk4yem....
You are doing well Darrell and coming along well.
Thank You. CW I still have way more to go Fred. I can't wait to see some CW videos Fred!!!!!!!!!!
Nice. I see the radio is putting out a full 20w on the meter as you talk, so we know the radio is indeed still powering out.
Fred, I am so Happy. Btw 15M is jumping about now . We have storms moving into soon:(
203 takes 2 watt input if you want a 20-30Mhz Amp try the RM KL-503 it will handle that little G90's 20W Output and get you the 300W ish your seeking,, BTW I have both and sings together nice for travel QSO'ing
Oh ok, sounds good.
Thank You.
Sounded like he was hearing you, but light copy. Nice try. 73 Fred
Thank You.
"Kilo"
Alsoa why are u running your decoder ... Also u have your compression turned off .. and your settings on the digital filter are all set up wrong ... Id be glad to sgow u areound the radio .. i inow g-90 in and.out
Thanks for your Reply. I didn't turn off the CW DECODER. Too much compression will make your modulation distorted.
Your ur vswr is burried ... The output of transmitter is cut back because u have a infinity vswr what are u doung to thay poor radio
Thank You for your Reply. I'm using a amplifier so the radio is Dead keying 5W so for this radio the modulation is low.
Just uploaded a video brother check it out.
Dude look at your swr meter it's buried full scale bad bad bad bad bad bad bad
If I'm looking at this correctly, your SWR is way out of whack... hitting the ∞ whenever you're transmitting. What does it show when you do an SWR scan, and what is your antenna tuned for?
I know right I swept the band and all SWR good.
@@KN4YEM Are you checking the SWR at the frequency you're transmitting on, right before and not touching anything else? Also trying the ATU might help show other issues. with an SWR in the red or out of scope, like you're showing... You won't get out.
Knock it off! Your radio waves traveled through time and reached a model T-800 “Arnold” terminator! We always knew Amateur radio operators were dangerous! ‘73s 😊
Thank You.
Lol
Hey Darrell, you're quite welcome, I should have been more specific when speaking of "Noise Level". Where we live is away from any major city, village and township. Our home is about a city block from our farm to market road. The previous owner had a " City "Streetlight" installed 20 yards from our house due the fact it's pitch-black and you're unable to see your hand in front of you when the moon's covered with clouds or overcast. That same light Pole has a "transformer" on it to supply power to our house and the neighbouring home and his 10 acres . My tower stands close to 50 yards from that same pole when setting my base I couldn't hear anyone when DXing the noise level was that high. I used a regular portable 8 band receiver with a telescopic Antenna and went hunting down the NOISE. I checked the house and incoming power line and got nothing. When I started walking towards that light pole it went wild with a Killer Noise level. I contacted our local power company letting them know I had an issue letting them know this light pole grounding is tearing up my reception. I could see visible a "very old Isolater" that was cracked at the top of that very same " Step down Transformer. Sure enough, they sent out a team With with a bucket-Service truck and replaced that old Isolater that had a visible crack in it and my noise level went from an S-8 down to an acceptable S- 3 putting a smile on my face! So get your hand on an old transistor radio with a telescopic antenna, leave it on AM and between local stations so you can hear a light white noise using like a wand and search out that electrical Culprit that's tearing up your "Receive". Again, 73's my good man... I'll be QRT
Set your compression and mic gain a little higher and make sure your alc doesn’t get into the red.
Okay well do Thanks.
ALC is in green read out
Yeah at night you don't have that d-layer absorption because we're facing away from the Sun I was able to get two qso's last night about 1:00 a.m. East Coast one in Italy and one in Luxembourg
Oh Nice, Congrats on your contacts
QSL , plus that noise level's insane, and yes depending on propagation in your area. Is your antenna close to a transformer, plus how high is it? Sorry, I'm off to work so I'll check back later this evening. 73's
Thanks for responding to the video. I do have that inside it's the furnace and stuff.
Cool.
Thank You
Wow so much noise and he was fading in the noise. A tough one Darrell. But you tried and tried.
Fred, Thanks for stopping by, I would have kept trying if he didn't say qrm in transmission
Explain what is happening here.
Great contact
Thank You !!!
Excellent Darrell
Thanks Fred, Thank You.
Good to see you again, i cant upload videos
Motomaster Hey Yo, why you can't upload videos? Btw do you still fix cars?
Maby say HELLO to Victor 😅
😂
Now this is intresting
wtf is that
Was a great contact
Darrel. I've been a ham and avid user of CW for many years. When you want to ask if the frequency is in use using CW, you transmit (QRL ?) a few times to see if you get a response. You don't simply send a "C" if your asking if the frequency is clear.
Thanks a mistake on my end. How long you been operating CW? I really Love CW.
@@KN4YEM 39 years Darrel
And when testing live on air to see if frequency is busy we ask QRL? Testing into a dummy load is always and should be used. When I said testing, I actually meant to say going to call.
If your in CW, yes. If your in SSB/FM or AM you simply ask. Whether CW or Phone you always ask before calling. And testing should be done mainly on a dummy load unless you have someone to test with. You should be familiar with this VE3FAL
@@KB2CWN yes I am very much familiar with this. But I operate mostly cw only so always QRL?. On voice I just ask “ is the frequency busy”. The word test was only used as that is what I heard as Darrell did his video.
Sounds like a dx pileup for sure. Possibly Easter Island as they have been on.
Oh okay sounds like a lottery ticket game.
Awesome Darrell. Enjoy my friend.
Thank You.
Have fun putting it together 73
Thank You.
The coming months are going to be very interesting to say the least.
The decoder works quite well for computer generated cw like W1AW.
Fred Your definitely right. I like the G90 better then the other radios I had.
Absolutely. That is how to learn it. It is like music. Each letter and number has a distinct sound. You are doing well Darrell. Keep it up.
Hey Fred, If you don't learn the correct way it will not be easy.
How are you running the G90 like that Darrell, that is cool.
Hey Fred Thank You. PRXTXRX on the PlayStore.
The Pro version has a few more features there's a free version also.
@@KN4YEM very cool for sure
@@VE3FAL1Fred Thank You !!!!!!!!
Right on the beginning of the 20m general class privilege. Be careful your not causing splatter below 14.225. Good practice is 3 kc above 14.225 to play it safe. Just saying brother.
It’s data transmissions fast data the conditions making it sound wavy
Way to do Darrell. WooHoo is right.
Thanks Fred!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!, I’m lucky bc I was on the NVIS. Just playing radio!!!!!!!!
Yea DX on 10m is very good when solar cycle is up. In the 80’s and 90’s 15m was my all time band. Worked the world with my ICOM and a long wire antenna.
Cool Fred, !!! Really 15m was jumping😂wow.
Nice contact Darrell.
I think so too!
CHU Canada
Thanks!!!
Cool video ...
Glad you enjoyed it
Those are nice sounding units Darrell. Big time!
Thanks just don't know why the other one has low volume
That I believe is a form of Over The Horizon Radar. I did a video in November 2019 with same sound, same frequency spectrum as well. There are so many different types now including SuperDarn.
